Community Spotlight: Lamar, Colorado

Lamar’s population is made up of nearly 8,000 residents and sits in southeastern Colorado, 108 miles east of Pueblo and 129 miles southeast of Colorado Springs. Born from a railroad depot along the Santa Fe Trail in the mid-1800s, the city got its name from Lucius Quintius Lamar. Lucius was Grover Cleveland’s Secretary of the Interior at the time of the city’s founding.

Viaero’s Nebraska Stores Impact Communities with Dogs Across America

Our Nebraska stores have been busy this summer giving back to Viaero’s communities by sponsoring “Dogs Across America” events. The Wayne store hosted the first “American Hot Dog Tour” event in March and April of this year, as well as the first “Hot Dogs Across the World” event, featuring international style dogs, in June and July.

Brush, Colorado is a community of close to 5,500 residents, located on the eastern plains 58 miles from Greeley. The city’s slogan is “Hometown Happiness,” which represents the area’s close-knit and neighbor friendly feel. As the mayor, Rick Bain stated, “we certainly are a community of great human resources.” Brush is a city known for its “can do attitude,” reflected in the exclamation point following its name.

Governor John Hickenlooper and Viaero’s own Executive Vice President/CFO, Mike Felicissimo announced the 2018 Pedal the Plains route at the Colorado State Capitol on Wednesday, April 25th. This year’s route includes the towns of Kiowa, Bennett and Limon. “Viaero loves to sponsor the ride because northeastern Colorado is our home. This route is about seeing where your food comes from, and showing the eastern plains, the beauty, and the farming activity,” said Mike Felicissimo.
